Ken Wright is one of those rare individuals who is good at everything. He could have easily become an elite athlete in any of his three chosen sports but instead decided on a business career.
He reveals the secrets for his success and how he has helped companies grow by engaging and inspiring the greatest assets companies have - human capital.
Ken Wright’s determination to succeed began when he started work as a bank teller at Westpac at the tender age of 16. His application and dedication to the job was immediately recognised and within 11 years at age 27 he became the youngest Westpac bank manager at a branch in Geelong.
His career continued to rise. He headed up sales and service and later became CEO of Westpac Financial Services, growing that business by 425% in just five years under his guidance and leadership.
It came as no surprise that Ken was lured away from the bank to join Aussie Home Loans, Australia’s leading non-bank lender. As a key member of the AHL executive team, his leadership capabilities, strategic planning and implementation skills were integral in growing the business and increasing profitability beyond the expectations of management.
Life took a big change for Ken when he married Amanda Gore in 2004 and moved to the United States where they established Amanda Gore International that managed her professional speaking commitments. They returned to Australia in 2009.
It was in the US where he started his coaching and speaking career that was highlighted by the release in 2008 of “The People Pill” a book he wrote on how to engage people to achieve excellent results.
This best-selling book recently won the Gold Medal in the Leadership Category of the prestigious Axiom USA Business Book Awards ahead of top-selling authors Seth Godin and Peter Drucker.
He has been described as “the secret weapon” companies have used to successfully achieve growth by encouraging business leaders to better connect with their people to maximise results.
Ken is in constant demand in Australia and internationally as a keynote speaker, workshop presenter and executive coach at conferences and seminars.
He is engaged by a broad range of businesses from small business and franchisees to major corporations.
