Iain ‘Huey’ Hewitson has been a Chef/Restaurateur for over 40 years. Since arriving in Australia from NZ in 1971, he has owned and operated many highly rated establishments.
And, for over 25 years, Iain has also been a fixture on national TV with “Health, Wealthy & Wise”, “A Cook’s Journey”, “Huey’s TV Dinner”, “Never Trust a Skinny Cook”, “Huey’s Cooking Adventures” and “Huey’s Kitchen”, which aired for 11 seasons, where it attracted 1.7 million viewers weekly.
As well, he has written nine cookbooks – “Huey’s Greatest Hits” won the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Award for ‘Best Book by a Television Chef’.
Iain has also had significant experience as a MC, host and guest speaker. And, of course, he has also conducted many cooking demos (obviously in a light hearted manner).
In recent times, he has enjoyed a great success with events entitled “Lunch (or Dinner) with Huey”, where he feeds the audience in a generous manner while entertaining them with simple recipe demos and lots of chat. Successful not just because he whips up lots of food, but because the event can be presented in shops, shopping centres or, in fact, anywhere Huey can set up a trestle table and a burner or two.
