Ross Stevenson is the biggest name on Australian radio having commanded the No 1 rating spot for the past 20 years on Melbourne’s 3AW Breakfast with the Ross & John show.
The last official ratings survey showed his morning listening audience is over half a million people every day which is why it has earned him and his on-air partner, John Burns, the best radio team on three occasions at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards.
Stevenson came into broadcasting literally by accident. As a practicing lawyer he teamed up with a fellow lawyer and for a bit of fun produced a show called Lawyers Guns and Money for a community radio station. The show was a big hit and quickly built a huge cult following.
Within four years the duo was snapped up by 3AK and in 1990 they crossed to 3AW where he has spent the past 26 years.
Stevenson is renowned for his legendary one-liners and quick wit and is highly respected by fellow broadcasters, the industry and listeners alike.
Last year he created a Saturday morning radio program, A Moveable Feast, which he presents with Kate Stevenson (no relation) that covers the indulgence of food, wine and travel.
Married with three sons, two of whom are from a first marriage, Stevenson recently became a father once more with the arrival of a daughter.
Apart from family, Stevenson is a fanatical Hawthorn Football Club supporter, a keen punter and owner of slow racehorses. His love of horse racing has seen him more recently co-hosted a television show with Hamish McLachlan called “That’s Racing” on Racing.Com during the autumn carnival season. It was so well received the show will be returning during the Spring Racing Carnival.
Ross is a wonderful choice as a lunch or dinner speaker or MC.
He travels from Melbourne.
